Flames of War - The Armoured Panzer Grenadier Company

So its been a little quiet on the blog front again, looks like I am a once every couple of weeks kinda guy!

After a year or so of looking I have decided to buy a 15mm WW2 army. After looking through a couple of books, I liked the idea of the German Armoured Panzer Grenadier Company. This was partly influenced by the availability of some nice plastic alternatives to the Battlefront models. So following a few discussions with people at the club and some old friends that have been playing for a while I ordered my models!

The first delivery is below.

I cannot recommend the Plastic Soldier Company enough, they have great response times, customer service & prompt delivery. I asked them to swap out one of the tank boxes from one of their current special offers and they where more than happy to do so. In total I got 5 Stugs (not shown), 5 Panzers, 15 Sd Kfz 251s, and a ton of infantry (inc machine gun teams) for £82.50 including delivery.
To go with this I ordered some laser cut MDF bases and some Panzerfausts & Mortars from Peter Pig.

The Half-Track kits are excellent, the close ups below show the kits, the instructions are not brilliant, but the models are not exactly complex. They do how ever come with an excellent selection of accessories to make them look different.

The infantry have enough for 10 officers stands, 15 LMG teams & radio operators. I plan to use the radio operators on both command stands and spotter teams.

The Peter Pig models where the best way to get the Panzerfaust upgrades for my SMG teams, I ordered a couple of packs of mortars to see if I can convert a couple of the Kfz 251s into mobile mortar teams.

I will be assembling these over this week and will have some pics up soon.
